Interview reminder email template (day before)
Nothing you can do for attendance costs as little as a short note the afternoon before. An interview reminder email reaches a candidate whose booking is ten days old and long out of mind, at the hour when they can still move tomorrow around. The line that matters most is the last one, the offer to change the slot, and handing over a link instead of an awkward email is what cuts no-shows.
The templates

When to send it
- The afternoon before, between two and five, when people are still at a desk and can act on it.
- Once, and only once. Three messages about one interview read as anxiety and teach the candidate to skim past you.
- For every interview booked more than three days in advance, whatever the stage.
- Before a panel or a final round especially, where the cost of an empty room is several people, not one.
What to change
- The join detail. A [Meet link] for video, an [Address] and a name for reception on site, and who calls whom for a phone screen.
- The reschedule line. Keep it, keep it near the end, and keep it free of apology so it reads as an offer rather than a test.
- The sign-off. Warm beats formal here, since the candidate is deciding tonight how much they care about tomorrow.
- The link itself. In Bestpeople, [Booking link] is the candidate's personal link, so the same one they booked with moves or cancels the interview.
In Bestpeople the link the candidate booked with is still live, so a reminder that lands badly ends in a new slot rather than a no-show. See how
